Senior Geologic Modeler
- Pay Rate: $140 - $170/hour (on W2)
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Location: Spring, TX 77389 (Onsite)
Our client is seeking an Experienced Geologic Modeler to join its Greece and Cyprus subsurface team in Spring, Texas. The team is maturing two recent discoveries, one clastic and one carbonate, toward development on a tight timeline. You will own the static geologic model for the clastic discovery, with some support on the carbonate model as needed, and serve as the bridge between geologic interpretation, stratigraphy, and the reservoir engineers.
This is a hands‑on modeling seat on a small, collaborative team, so the right person can hit the ground running from day one. The role is 100% onsite at the Spring campus, with a standard 40-hour week and no travel.
- Build and maintain the static geologic model for a clastic discovery, integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering data.
- Construct and update structural and strati graphic frameworks that capture reservoir geometry, heterogeneity, connectivity, and compartmentalization.
- Perform property modeling, seismic conditioning, and calibration to seismic data to improve model predictability.
- Quality-check modeling inputs, including seismic interpretations, strati graphic correlations, and petrophysical data.
- Run uncertainty analysis, scenario modeling, volumetrics, and sensitivity testing, and identify the key geologic risk drivers.
- Partner with reservoir engineers on model initialization, history matching, flow simulation, and dynamic sensitivities.
- Deliver models that support resource assessment, reservoir simulation, pressure forecasting, and development planning.
- Support the team's carbonate discovery model when needed.
- Improve and apply geologic modeling workflows, standards, and best practices for efficiency, consistency, and quality.
- Present modeling assumptions, results, uncertainties, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical documentation, peer reviews, assurance activities, and regulatory support.
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience building geologic models, with clear time spent on model construction across projects.
- Expert Petrel skills, including framework construction, static model development, property modeling, and calibration to seismic data.
- Strong experience modeling clastic reservoirs for appraisal or field development.
- Experience developing workflows and integrating well log, seismic, and core data.
- Proven ability in uncertainty analysis, scenario modeling, volumetric assessments, and sensitivity testing.
- Solid understanding of petrophysical and strati graphic analysis as inputs to geologic modeling.
- Working exposure to reservoir engineering concepts and terminology, enough to partner effectively with reservoir engineers.
- Strong collaborator who works well across disciplines and contributes to an inclusive, respectful team culture.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Spring, Texas.
- Hands‑on seismic and well data interpretation, and an understanding of how seismic products are generated.
- Experience with deepwater reservoirs.
- Exposure to carbonate reservoir modeling.
- Degree in geology, geophysics, physics, or a related field. Hands‑on modeling experience carries more weight than degree.
