Activities Coordinator-Group Fitness PRN

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the group fitness activities of our residents. The Activities Coordinator - Group Fitness will work closely with the staff Recreation Therapist to develop residents' therapeutic activities.

• Follows any medical regime developed for the patient by the nursing department.
• Leading the patients in group fitness activity programs while providing direction, guidance, and encouragement as appropriate.
• Follows any medical regime developed for the patient.
• Carries out the daily activities for the patients as needed.
• Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients.
• Coordinates with staff Recreational Therapist regarding therapeutic activities.
• Plans appropriate activities for assigned group.
• Ensures that patient activities are designed to meet the needs and interests of each patient.
• Demonstrating an ability to assess patients' emotional, physical, and mental capabilities and limitations when planning the group fitness class.
• Ensuring patient group size is held to a therapeutic level.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Two years in the healthcare field with one year in an activities-related field.

• Certified Professional Trainer Preferred.
• Certified in AHA BLS/CPR.
• Must obtain current tuberculosis test within the first fourteen (14) days of employment and annually after that.
• Maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility, or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
