Certified Pharmacy Technician, Central Fill, Health And Wellness Central Operations - Health And Wellness

Base pay range: $19.00/hr – $23.00/hr

Position Summary:

We are hiring Certified Pharmacy Technicians for our Central Fill pharmacy in Spring, Texas. Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region. Unlike a traditional pharmacy, Central Fill is fully automated, allowing prescriptions to be filled quickly and accurately, while ensuring high-quality patient care even though the role is not patient facing.

Required qualifications:

• Must meet state requirements to work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Currently certified as a pharmacy technician (PTCB or NHA) and registered on the relevant state board.

Shift schedule:

  • 1st shift: 6 am – 6 pm
  • 2nd shift: 3 pm – 3 am
  • 3rd shift: 3 pm – 3 am (not listed, but may be available)

Job Duties:

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as prescribed by physicians.
  • Process prescriptions, including counting, bottling, packaging, labeling, and recording medication dosages.
  • Enter prescription information into the computer system and verify accuracy.
  • Perform inventory control, including stocking, re-stocking medications and supplies, removing expired items, and reporting on inventory levels.
  • Answer phone calls, manage customer queries, and forward complex queries to the pharmacist.
  • Process insurance claims and manage payments.
  • Comply with all security measures and quality standards of pharmaceutical care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including proper storage and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and creating reports.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Move, lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Holds an active national certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pharmacy Technician Career Diploma through Live Better U or Penn Foster.
