Job Description

The PET/CT Technologist performs PET/CT, CT Simulation, diagnostic CT procedures, administers prepared radiopharmaceuticals, administers contrast media and performs ordered examinations according to policies and procedures established by the KSC Nuclear Medicine Department, Radiology Department, and Kelsey‑Seybold Clinic. The technologist may also perform general nuclear medicine imaging as needed, including nuclear cardiology, dynamic flow studies, and SPECT studies. Compliance with all safety policies and regulations, including radiation safety and quality control procedures, is required.

Utilizes the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete patient exam documentation process and designated PACS for image storage.

Responsibilities
  • Perform PET/CT, CT Simulation, and diagnostic CT procedures.
  • Administer prepared radiopharmaceuticals and contrast media.
  • Execute ordered examinations in line with department policies.
  • Conduct general nuclear medicine imaging, including nuclear cardiology, dynamic flow studies, and SPECT studies.
  • Comply with all safety policies, radiation safety, and quality control procedures.
  • Use EMR, RIS, and PACS for documentation and image storage.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiology program (Required). Preferred: another accredited program.
  • Experience
    : 6 months clinical PET/CT and CT (Required). Preferred: 3+ years in both PET/CT and CT.
  • Licenses
    : ARRT (CT) and NMTCB or ARRT (N) or registry eligible. MRT – General Certificate. BLS from American Heart Association.
  • Other Skills
    :
    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
