Supplemental Cardiac Sonographer

Job SummaryThis position performs echocardiograms to evaluate different aspects of the heart for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This PRN position will primarily support increased weekend volumes between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, with additional support on weekdays and evenings. May include some on-call night shifts. Credentialed graduates from community college programs are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiac Sonography Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Sonography Technology (preferred).
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support (required).
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.
- Experience in preparing patients, performing imaging techniques, ensuring image quality, and entering patient data.
- Perform echocardiogram tests: prepare patients, explain test, position patients, select imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of images.
- Enter and monitor patient data.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and appropriately handle escalations.
- Perform equipment quality assurance and assist with accreditation processes.
- Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to supervisor/manager.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Takes emergency call within the department.
- Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with policies and budgetary specifications.
- Promote professional growth and development, support team goals, and act as preceptor/mentor.
- Commit to compassionate, personalized experiences and uphold service standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
