About Houston Exxon Mobil ’s state‑of‑the‑art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 8,000 employees and visitors. What you will do
  • Support and lead a wide range of commercial transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, divestments, exploration pursuits and other strategic transactions.
  • Provide day‑to‑day legal support for business units, developing relationships with key business leaders to drive positive business results.
  • Draft, negotiate and implement agreements, including acquisition, divestment, joint venture and production sharing agreements.
  • Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues, providing legal analysis and counsel to business leaders that anticipates and helps mitigate legal risks.
  • Work closely with other teams in the Law Department, other functional groups and business lines.
  • Interface with outside counsel on certain transactions, regulatory matters, and disputes.
About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Strong college and law school record (top 1/3 of class preferred).
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state (Texas bar membership preferred).
  • Strong transactional background.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience, at least partially with a major law firm, corporate legal department, or government agency.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise sound business judgment.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and as a member of an integrated team.
  • Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally in support of client transactions.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
  • Transactional experience in the energy industry.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating agreements for complex transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, exploration pursuits and other strategic transactions.
  • Experience managing legal compliance issues (e.g., antitrust, anti‑corruption and trade law matters).
  • Demonstrated record of leadership and initiative.
  • Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
