Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Pay InformationBase hourly range: $23.85 – $32.79 per hour
Sign‑on bonus: $2,500 available
About the RoleBio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is seeking a dedicated Medical Support Specialist to support daily plasma donation center operations. The candidate will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues and the Center Manager for operational guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent management, education on HIV/AIDS prevention, and self‑exclusion procedures.
- Conduct medical history interviews, acceptability assessments, physical examinations, and blood testing; review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, manage emergency medical situations, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and evaluate further evaluation requirements per occupational health/ER guidelines.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensed or certified in the state assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
