About the RoleThe Assistant Director of Nursing supports day-to-day healthcare operations, ensures quality care, supervises licensed nurses and staff, and collaborates with physicians and families to deliver exceptional care.
Responsibilities- Direct and supervise community‑based licensed nursing staff (LPN, RN), Med Techs/CNAs, Lead caregiving employees, and resident care staff.
- Assign and direct work of subordinates, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and resolve complaints.
- Provide ongoing training, supervision, and monitoring of medication administration, including audits of medication records.
- Deliver training to resident care employees with classroom in‑services and situation‑specific training.
- Maintain resident charts and review documentation performed by caregiving staff.
- Assess health, functional and psycho‑social status of residents, initiate individualized service plans, and manage care proactively.
- Communicate health status updates to families, physicians, and executive leadership.
- Participate in pre‑admission screening, documentation review, and coordinate transitions of care.
- Perform on‑site evaluations for residents in alternate care environments and maintain contact with families to facilitate return to the community.
- Coordinate with other departments to provide continuous, proactive care.
- Communicate with physicians regarding resident status and prepare physician visit documentation.
- Facilitate continuity of care for residents receiving home health, hospice, and third‑party services.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; RN or LPN with a current Texas license.
- Minimum two years of geriatric nursing experience with strong leadership skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Warm, friendly, and caring demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary range: $80,000–$90,000, based on experience.
Work schedule:
