Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for an organized, confident, people-focused Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations at one of our professionally managed apartment communities. You’ll be the right hand to the Property Manager, helping keep the community running smoothly, residents satisfied, and financial performance tight.

This isn’t a desk-only job — you’ll be involved in leasing, resident relations, collections, maintenance coordination, and problem-solving. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, stay calm under pressure, and enjoy delivering a great resident experience while driving results, you’ll fit perfectly.

We want someone who is reliable, proactive, and takes ownership. If you’re looking to grow in multifamily operations and you’re ready to step into a role with real responsibility, this is your chance.

Responsibilities

Resident Relations & Customer Experience

  • Be the primary point of contact for residents and prospects; deliver friendly, solution-focused service.
  • Manage resident communication with clarity, urgency, and professionalism.
  • Resolve resident concerns and escalate issues appropriately.

Leasing & Renewals

  • Assist with leasing efforts, tours, follow-ups, and application processing as needed.
  • Drive renewal conversations, negotiate lease terms, and maintain strong renewal percentages.
  • Ensure prospects and residents receive accurate information and exceptional service.

Collections & Delinquency Management

  • Monitor rent collections daily and proactively reach out to residents with outstanding balances.
  • Follow delinquency procedures, issue notices, and coordinate with third-party vendors when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate status updates to leadership.

Maintenance Coordination

  • Receive, track, and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors to keep the property in excellent condition.
  • Communicate updates to residents and ensure issues are closed out properly.

Operations & Administration

  • Assist with preparing reports, managing files, and completing resident documentation.
  • Support compliance with company policies, fair housing, and local/state regulatory requirements.
  • Protect revenue by accurately applying fees, charges, and lease terms.
  • Support property-level projects, inspections, and audits.
Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience in property management, leasing, or customer service.
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal — with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Proficient with property management software (App Folio, Yardi, Real Page, or similar).
  • Ability to work on-site, full-time, and handle occasional after-hours needs when required.

Preferred

  • Experience with multifamily leasing or assistant manager duties.
  • Knowledge of fair housing laws and leasing/renewal practices.
  • Comfort with collections, notices, and managing delinquency steps.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
After you apply

After you submit your application, you will receive an email to complete a 3-question video questionnaire. Only candidates who submit their videos will be considered for the next step in our hiring process.

Compensation

$45,000 - $60,000 yearly
