About On‑Demand

As an On‑Demand Team Member you will create a schedule that fits your availability by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app. Reliable and prompt attendance is required. You will need to work at least four hours every month and pick up at least one shift within five months of hire, or your employment may be terminated.

If you do not respond promptly to contact attempts your employment may be terminated. You will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short‑term structured training schedule before starting work.

Service & Engagement

Advocates of guest experience welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, store cleanliness, and both in‑store and digital services. You will help make shopping quick and easy for guests at the check‑lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick‑up and drive‑up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve the experience.
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for choosing Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Promote Target loyalty programs and assist with sign‑ups; enroll guests in fulfillment services and explain how to use them.
  • Educate guests on using Wallet and other features of the Target App.
  • Assist with returns and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed to resolve issues.
  • Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience.
  • Deliver accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‐free work area and gather abandoned items, baskets, and hangers.
  • Stock supplies during open hours while being available for guests.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies and report hazards.
  • Support cash office processes and manage cash systems as needed.
  • Perform additional duties based on business needs.
