Overview

Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our Team!

Pay: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour. We offer a commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. You can earn commission up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $2.18 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.

The associate engages with customers and assists with inquiries and problem resolution. The associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and much more.

The full‑time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage, PLUS commission based on productivity. The actual pay will be based on factors such as location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
  • Perform non-management open/close procedures.
  • Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain visual displays.
  • Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle cash and negotiable items according to policies and procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls per company standards.
  • Explain legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Complete required training successfully.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, stooping, lifting, etc.) in compliance with laws.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Ability to assist customers on exterior areas as needed.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Strong desire to serve customers, be team‑oriented, and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate with experience using POS systems and office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission, based on gross profit of personal performance. Applicants receive more details during the interview process.
