Overview

Our client, a leader in scientific and financial modeling within the energy and scientific research sectors, is seeking a Python Contract Developer-Expert Level to join their team. As a Python Contract Developer-Expert Level, you will be part of the Data Science and Software Engineering departments supporting interdisciplinary teams focused on innovative carbon capture and sequestration systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a passion for developing high-quality, scalable code, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Python Contract Developer-Expert Level

Location: Spring, TX

Pay Range: 65.00+

• Refactor and enhance existing Python-based financial and scientific models to ensure robustness and maintainability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and computational engineers to understand complex modeling requirements and translate them into production-quality code.
• Architect and implement improvements to optimize performance, scalability, and extensibility of modeling codebases.
• Establish and promote software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing protocols.
• Integrate testing frameworks and organize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.

• Proven expertise in Python development, with extensive experience in complex, modular, or object-oriented programming.
• Strong background in data science, particularly in developing scientific or financial models.
• Experience working with data libraries such as pandas and numpy, with an ability to optimize code performance.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like pytest and experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working within Agile teams.
