Middle School Varsity Baseball Coach

Archdiocese of Galveston‑Houston – St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School is seeking a Coach for the Middle School Varsity Baseball team for the spring season (February to late April). This is a stipend‑only position.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead practices (first week of February, 3:30‑5:30 pm, 3–4 times/week; when games begin, practice twice and play twice a week).
• Schedule and conduct games at on‑site or off‑site fields; travel to those locations.
• Teach and reinforce baseball fundamentals while fostering a Christian attitude.
• Hold try‑outs and evaluate players if enrollment exceeds available spots, then select the Varsity roster.
• Maintain communication with players and parents.

Requirements

• Coaching and/or playing experience.
• Knowledgeable about the game of baseball.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good rapport with players and parents.
• Provides a positive Christian example for student athletes.
• Must complete Applitrack form on the Archdiocese website, online Safe Environment Training, and required Annual Online School Trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid & Sudden Illness, AED & CPR, Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine, and Child Abuse & Neglect).
