Role Description
As Senior Manager, Project Logistics Pricing & Tender Management (m/f/d) you will be joining the team of our Conceptum Logistics branch office Houston, Texas in the United States. You will be responsible for overseeing all pricing and tender management activities, ensuring profitability and growth within the complex project cargo sector.
Responsibilities
- Managing and responding to customer requests from national companies and global clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project logistics requirements.
- Leading the development of pricing strategies for complex transport solutions, including land, sea, and air freight, with a focus on oversized and heavy-lift cargo.
- Driving the full lifecycle of tenders, from initial request through submission and post-tender negotiations, integrating operational, financial, and technical inputs to craft compelling and competitive offers.
- Analyzing tender documents and customer specifications to identify scope, risks, and strategic opportunities, ensuring all proposals meet compliance and client expectations.
- Coordinating closely with internal teams, including order management, chartering, engineering, and finance—to gather data, validate feasibility, and align on pricing and execution strategies.
- Maintaining and expanding a centralized supplier and rate database, ensuring access to up-to-date market intelligence and leveraging supplier relationships for optimal pricing and conditions.
- Negotiating rates and terms with suppliers and partners, balancing competitiveness with profitability and long-term strategic value.
- Entering and maintaining all customer requests, offers, and pricing data in Cargosoft, ensuring transparency, traceability, and performance tracking.
- Monitoring and improving tender success rates, analyzing outcomes, and implementing lessons learned to continuously refine our approach.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in land/sea/air transportation, rigging, or OOG shipping, with a strong background in operations and project management, specifically in heavy lift/oversized cargo.
- Proven experience in tender management, including successful leadership of complex, multi-million-dollar bids.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe in particular); knowledge of Cargosoft and Salesforce preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Customer Relationship Management and lead a team of two (2) to four (4) people.
- Proven ability to negotiate optimal prices and conditions and self-manage.
- Efficiently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and identify and implement process improvements.
- Ability to analyze data, take initiative, and contribute innovative ideas.
- Strong relationship-building skills with key stakeholders, and the ability to establish and monitor KPIs.
- Ability to identify potential risks in customer request and pricing processes and develop mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with and strong interest in preparing concepts, offers, and large tenders for project cargo.
