Educational Assistant - Five Points Elementary

Work with pupil(s) with identified special needs, in an effort to provide them with the academic and emotional support needed to gain full benefit from the district's special education program. Reports to the building principal.

• Assists students in completing academic assignments and self‑help tasks in all curricular areas, working towards completion of IEP goals and objectives.
• Works with small groups of students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Accompanies student(s) on class field trips or community experiences.
• Serves as a resource person, if and when requested, to the evaluation team conferring about the assigned students.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Assists the student(s) to whom assigned in such physical and personal daily tasks.
• Demonstrates positive relationship with students, staff and parents.
• Establishes, as fully as possible, a supportive and sympathetic relationship with students.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate (may be obtained after employment)
• Must possess valid Ohio driver’s license
• Must pass criminal background check
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting.

• Effective Date: 2025/2026 school year – starting 1/5/2026
• Terms of Employment:
  One‑year probationary contract.
• Hours of Work: 7.25 hours per day / 193 Day contract
• Salary and Benefits: $17.45/hour and benefits as approved in the current negotiated agreement.
