Farmers & Merchants Bank (Springdale, AR) – Full‑time role.

As a Loan Assistant you will work directly with clients and loan officers, assisting in the preparation and processing of loan applications, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance. You’ll provide excellent customer service, coordinate with internal teams, and support the team’s commitment to integrity and teamwork.

• Prepare loan documents (business, dealer, consumer, commercial real estate).
• Close loans, disburse proceeds, and file legal documents.
• Assist customers with loan‑related questions.
• Maintain customer and department records.
• Handle phone calls and emails.
• Process note payments and update computer information.
• Check credit applications and prepare loan denials.
• Collect financial information for loan processing.
• Order required documents such as flood determinations, title insurance, and credit reports.
• Track documents to ensure timely loan closing.
• Review documentation for compliance.
• Prepare loan extensions and modifications.
• Mail past‑due letters and address loan exceptions.
• Prepare documentation for the special asset committee.

• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills (verbal and written).

• Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.

• Problem‑solving ability and proactive mindset.

• Adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience with loan processing or customer service preferred; not required.
