WHAT’S BREWING IN THIS ROLEThe Manager, Total Rewards leads the design, administration, communication, and ongoing evolution of 7 Brew’s compensation and benefits programs. This role ensures all rewards programs are competitive, compliant, scalable, and aligned with the needs of our hourly and management workforce across multiple states.
This individual will bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution and will play a key role in shaping and communicating 7 Brew’s Total Rewards philosophy. A payroll team member will report into this role; however, this position does not manage day‑to‑day payroll processing.

- Build a cohesive, strategic roadmap for compensation and benefits.
- Lead communication strategies to help employees understand the full value of their rewards.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize compensation structures for hourly crew, shift leads, shop management, and corporate roles.
- Conduct market analyses and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
- Lead job evaluations, leveling, and internal equity reviews.
- Manage annual cycles including merit, bonus, and promotions.
- Partner with Operations and HR to align compensation with staffing needs, performance, and organizational goals.
- Support the design of incentives, pay‑for‑performance principles, and long‑term compensation planning.
- Oversee all employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, leave programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Partner with brokers, vendors, and carriers to provide cost‑effective, high‑value benefits.
- Lead open enrollment and year‑round benefits communication and education.
- Recommend enhancements that support workforce needs and reinforce culture.
(Payroll execution is handled by the payroll team, who reports into this role.)
- Provide leadership oversight for payroll operations across corporate stands in multiple states.
- Partner with Finance and HRIS to ensure payroll workflows, integrations, and processes are accurate and efficient.
- Support audits, compliance, and documentation standards related to payroll.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations including FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and wage requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for compensation and benefits programs.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise leadership on necessary updates or impacts.
- Leverage technology across Core HCM, Compensation, and Benefits to support program administration and reporting.
- Partner with HRIS to enhance system configuration, workflows, and user experience.
- Utilize system reporting tools to support analytics, audits, and insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in compensation, benefits, payroll oversight, or total rewards—preferably within multi‑unit QSR or retail.
- Strong understanding of multi‑state compensation and benefits practices.
- Working knowledge of Workday HCM, Compensation, and Benefits modules.
- Proficiency in compensation benchmarking, data analysis, and Excel.
- Strong understanding of wage and hour regulations.
- Ability to balance strategic and tactical work in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
