Riggs Power Systems is hiring an experienced Power Field Technician to service and repair power generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, generators, switch gear, and complex electrical systems. This field‑based role supports our customers by delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality service.

• Diagnose and repair engines, generators, switch gear, and electrical components
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using CAT software, schematics, and service manuals
• Support start‑ups and commissioning on new power system installations
• Provide accurate service documentation and clear communication with the team and clients
• Participate in an on‑call rotation
• Represent Riggs with professionalism and strong customer service

• Min 3+ years of Power Systems experience with diesel/gas engines, generators, switch gear, or power generation systems
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with start‑up and commissioning highly preferred
• Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, or similar OEM systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use laptop‑based diagnostics
• Valid driver’s license; ability to work independently
• Willingness to travel (up to 50% overnight)

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to frequently lift 20 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally.
