Equipment Operator (Springdale, AR) EG271

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Springdale, Arkansas location.

• Operates excavation equipment for installation of underground telecommunications cable, conduit, and fiber optic cable.
• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Transports tools and construction equipment to and from construction sites.
• Avoids existing cables; digs in accordance with blueprints and designated plans.
• Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures using appropriate safety equipment.
• Sets up and cleans up work site including traffic and pedestrian control.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to shift, performs routine maintenance and repairs.
• Reads utility locates and coordinates day lighting of facilities.
• Ensures all applicable permits and locates are complete and on site.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications.
• Operates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
• Ensures sites are kept clean and safe.

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience. Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
• On-the-job training offered. Must be available to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, feet, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs as needed.
• Ability to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Must work outdoors for extended periods; exposed to extreme weather conditions.
• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Oral communication skills.
