Equipment Operator (Springdale, AR) EG271
ITG Communications, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Springdale, Arkansas location.
Responsibilities- Operates excavation equipment for installation of underground telecommunications cable, conduit, and fiber optic cable.
- Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
- Transports tools and construction equipment to and from construction sites.
- Avoids existing cables; digs in accordance with blueprints and designated plans.
- Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures using appropriate safety equipment.
- Sets up and cleans up work site including traffic and pedestrian control.
- Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to shift, performs routine maintenance and repairs.
- Reads utility locates and coordinates day lighting of facilities.
- Ensures all applicable permits and locates are complete and on site.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications.
- Operates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
- Ensures sites are kept clean and safe.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience. Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
- On-the-job training offered. Must be available to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, feet, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs as needed.
- Ability to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
- Must work outdoors for extended periods; exposed to extreme weather conditions.
- Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
- Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Oral communication skills.
