Job Description Summary The role will be based out of a component repair shop. The Lead EHS Specialist will assist in developing and implementing environmental health and safety programs, conducting inspections and risk assessments and providing a strong training program to ensure workplace compliance.

Job Description

• Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems;
• Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of EHS related issues.
• Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal & state laws;
• Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggest risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process;
• Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics;
• Training and assisting others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.);
• Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented;
• Conducting EHS training as needed, including new employee and contractor orientation;
• Responding to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events.
• Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned;
• Perform other duties, as assigned, in support of the EHS Program;
• Utilize Flight Deck to drive EHS Improvement

• Bachelors degree (in Environmental Safety, or Occupational Health Management preferred) from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of EHS experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of EHS experience).

• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings.
• Experience with environmental compliance.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Experience presenting training to large multidisciplinary groups.
• Works well independently and in a group environment.
