SUMMARY OF
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support in maintaining and processing financial information by reconciling accounts, maintaining, updating, and adjusting accounting records; obtaining, gathering, verifying, summarizing and providing information pertaining to charitable organizations registrations and annual reports. Verifies financial documents and related charitable organization documents to ensure that information has been accurately posted to the database/record system. Documents and processes financial documents, annual reports and registrations by verifying information;
entering information into the accounting system;
Maintains historical financial records by updating, adjusting, and entering information into account books, records, and ledgers (manual or automated); verifying accounting information with other internal records. Assists other staff by maintaining detailed records; coding, preparing, and processing routine financial documents; and answering routine questions. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
May be required to cross train and be a back‑up on other accounting functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires completion of two years college and one year of technical accounting experience or four years of related clerical or bookkeeping experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting techniques and elementary knowledge of State accounting laws, regulations and procedures. Familiarity with standard office accounting machines and personal computers needed. Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public required.
Attendance is an essential function of this position.
HOURS OF WORK: 8:45 a.m.
- 4:45 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
Position requires in office attendance.
