Essential Functions
  • Under direction, performs complex and specialized keyboarding/input duties of a confidential and general nature.
  • Lifts and carries tubs of correspondence, weighing up to 30 pounds, received from taxpayers and delivers to the appropriate work area.
  • Keyboards/inputs and sets up a variety of forms on a personal computer using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, e.g., forms to file liens, lien releases, letters to taxpayers requesting additional information, federal tax information, etc.
  • Assists in training staff in the basic use of personal computers and related equipment.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires two years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a tax compliance and fingerprint-based background check.
  • Requires ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulder level, and lift tubs of work.
  • This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to use and secure a state issued mobile device, e.g., cellular phone, laptop computer, tablet, etc.
