Overview
LLCC is hiring an Administrative Assistant for the Natural & Agricultural Sciences department. The role provides essential administrative assistance and support to the department dean, faculty and staff, maintaining and coordinating workflow efficiently and independently.
- Maintain and coordinate the workflow within the academic department.
- Provide essential administrative assistance and support for the department dean, faculty, and staff.
- Manage correspondence, schedule meetings, and coordinate events.
- Assist with budget tracking and reporting.
- Prepare report and materials for department meetings.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Dean.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1‑3 years of experience in office management or as support staff in an academic setting (or similar environment).
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Associate’s degree preferred; alternatively, a certificate of completion in clerical/office assistant practices or 18 semester‑hours of coursework at the collegiate level with significant relevant work experience.
- Community college experience.
- Experience working with multiple people.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including comfort dealing with individuals with special needs.
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision and constant interruption.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet searches.
- Experience using management information systems for business, scheduling, and student information functions.
- Starting salary: $41,505 – $47,767 per year, based on education, training, experience, and skills.
- 23 paid holidays per year, including 2 weeks at year‑end and 1 week in March.
- 12 Fridays off in the summer.
- 2 personal days, 15 sick days, starting with 10 vacation days per year.
- Tuition waiver for credited courses for staff, spouse and eligible dependent children.
- Free access to the on‑campus fitness center.
