• 450‑bed tertiary teaching hospital affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
• Level I Trauma Center with 54‑bed closed ICU and 22 ED beds.
• Annual volume of 20,000 with 2–3 admits/day and 3–5 admits/night per intensivist.
• Epic EMR with Dragon dictation.
• Full roster of sub‑specialty backup except dermatology, transplant, and hepatology.
