Position: ACADEMIC PEDIATRIC UROLOGY SURGEON - Assistant/Associate Professor

Overview

The Department of Urology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Urology Surgeon for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, depending on experience and academic record. Tenure/Non-tenure track eligible.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair of Urology, Bradley Schwartz, DO, this is an exciting opportunity to expand and enhance an academic Urology program in Illinois. This position will have privileges at Springfield Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Hospital. Applicants must have completed a residency in Urology and fellowship in Pediatric Urology. Illinois licensure is a requirement of employment. Duties include maintaining a medical practice, teaching students and residents, and engaging in clinical and/or basic science research.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

Board-eligible or board-certified in the U.S.; eligible for Illinois medical license; successful completion of Urology residency and Pediatric Urology fellowship. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $250,000 to $275,000, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
