Responsibilities
Join a dynamic and growing academic orthopedic surgery program reporting to Dr. Michaela Schneiderbauer, Chair of Orthopedic Surgery. This role offers the opportunity to shape trauma care delivery and help train the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive orthopedic trauma care in a high-volume clinical setting, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents in a supportive academic environment, and conducting or contributing to clinical or basic science research.
Clinical privileges will be held at Springfield Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. John’s Hospital, both key partners in SIU’s mission of academic excellence and patient-centered care.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical school and licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Illinois. Successful completion of an Orthopedic residency program. Board-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
