Mechanical Test Engineer

Design and develop NI-based test case engine features and define metrics for test automation using NI LabVIEW.

Provide technical support to internal and client engineering teams, applying systems engineering principles to develop and execute testing plans for mechanical and telematics systems.

Perform hardware and software validation, including regression and feature testing, and simulate mechanical systems using MATLAB/Simulink.

Create 3D CAD models of test fixtures, racks, and enclosures using CATIA V5 and AutoCAD.

Design test hardware systems with consideration for heat load, EMI, vibration, and structural integrity.

Generate detailed 2D drawings, BOMs, and fabrication files for prototype and production builds.

Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical test system elements and ensure automated test sequences are properly implemented.

Perform root-cause analysis and mechanical failure investigations using engineering analysis principles.

Manage test equipment sourcing, fabrication, and validation with internal and external suppliers.

Analyze test results and prepare engineering validation reports recommending design and process improvements.

Tools and Technologies: NI LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, Solid Works, ANSYS, MS Excel, and various data acquisition systems.

Educational Requirement: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
