Structural Engineer

CEC has an immediate opening for a LICENSED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to work in the Bridge & Structure Department.

This job will provide an opportunity to work on conventional, unique, and complex projects for IDOT, county highway departments, local public agencies/municipalities, contractors and more, involving structure rehabilitations, overlays and joint replacements, bridge deck replacements, structure reconstruction, superstructure/substructure widening and replacements, Type, Size and Location Plans, Structure Geotechnical Reports, and Bridge Condition Reports.

• Structural design calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and contracts.
• Structural analysis, bridge inspections, load ratings and inspection reports.
• Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for bridges and box culverts.
• Work collaboratively with Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• and coordinate with the CEC Team, as required.
• Provide Construction Engineering and observation to assure conformance with specifications; shop drawing review.
• Provide construction services for contractors such as Demolition Plans, Jacking and Cribbing, Temporary Soil Retention Systems, Cofferdams, etc.
• Participate in planning, cost development and management, assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals and scheduling for assigned projects.

• BS Degree in Engineering.
• Structural Engineer License in Illinois.
• Professional Engineer License is desired but not required.
