Position: Medical Sonographer Technologist - Trainee (U) (4616)

Description

The individual in this position is responsible for providing obstetric and gynecologic sonography services and procedures for patients at all SIU ultrasound sites under direct supervision of a registered sonographer.

Examples of Duties
  • Conduct standard sonographic exams on obstetric and gynecologic patients under direct supervision.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examination/procedure.
  • Assist attending physician in the performance of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound guided procedures and examination.
  • Complete the sonographer's portion of the imaging report with accurate information, including CPT codes for billing purposes.
  • Accurately complete Touchworks encounters for billing of ultrasound exams and procedures.
  • Assist with chart prep for the Sonography Unit.
  • Assist with cleaning of ultrasound equipment and exam rooms.
  • Assist with stocking of ultrasound supplies in exam rooms.
  • Rotate through all sites/locations covered by the Central Sonography Unit.
  • Work varied hours based on clinic needs.
  • Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current/valid registration, certification or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
