Job Summary
Shape the Future of Healthcare: LLCC is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Sonography Instructor to inspire and educate the next generation of sonography professionals. This position is a Full‑time, tenure‑track, 9‑month instructor to teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography courses and serve as Clinical Coordinator in accordance with LLCC and JRC‑DMS/CAAHEP standards. The DMS program is offered on the LLCC main campus in Springfield, IL.
In this role, you will deliver classroom lectures and supervise clinical training in the hospital setting. Duties include teaching 15 contact hours per semester of assigned classes and clinicals; preparing lessons and course syllabi; evaluating and assisting students; maintaining accurate student records; providing timely feedback; holding office hours; participating in departmental and institutional operations; reviewing program quality; and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Responsibilities- Teach 15 contact hours per semester of diagnostic medical sonography courses and clinicals.
- Prepare lesson plans, course syllabi, and assessment materials.
- Evaluate student performance, maintain records, and provide feedback.
- Hold office hours and supervise clinical training.
- Contribute to departmental operations, program review, and accreditation processes.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical sonography experience.
- Current ARDMS certification in vascular and adult echocardiography.
- Knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques and pathophysiology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Completed coursework in learning theory, curriculum design, testing, or teaching methodology.
- ARDMS pediatric or fetal echocardiography certification.
- Experience teaching DMS content in laboratory, clinical, or didactic settings.
- Familiarity with clinical tracking systems such as Trajecsys.
- Experience teaching with Canvas or other online learning platforms.
Salary is based on education level and experience. For Masters level, ranges from $49,545 to $89,100 annually. Additional compensation may be earned through extra teaching assignments and coordinator roles. For the 9‑month appointment, the starting salary ranges between $48,337 and $71,514.
