Orthopedics Physician Assistant

Health Care System seeks to add another full-time Physician Assistant to the team.
Previous orthopedic experience is preferred but will train a recent Physician Assistant graduate with a strong interest in orthopedics! The position includes both the clinic and OR. The new Physician Assistant will be working with a Sports Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon that has a focus on shoulders, knees and total joint. Recent graduates must have completed an orthopedic rotation.

Responsibilities include:

• First assist
• Initial evaluations
• Joint aspiration and injections
• Pre-op and Post-op H&P s
• Reductions of fractures and dislocations
• Write scripts
• Coordinate with Physical Therapist and ATC s
• Ordering tests and evaluate X-ray, CT Scan and MRI
• Casting and splinting
• Possibility to run clinics
• Hospital rounds

The location is within 25 minutes of Springfield, Illinois. This city has universities, a local airport, low cost of living and excellent school systems. Salary depends on experience, plus a production bonus plan. There is an excellent full benefits package offered.
