Sr. Medicaid Data Analyst — CMS Reporting & Analytics Long-term contract with the possibility of conversion to full-time employment.
Remote role with benefits provided.

We are seeking a senior-level data analyst to join our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team supporting Medicaid and CMS programs. This role goes beyond reporting—it involves data analysis, validation, and solution design to improve healthcare data quality and compliance. You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, optimize data processes, and support federal reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze Medicaid and healthcare-related data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and maintain SQL queries, dashboards, and BI reports for executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with CMS federal reporting standards (CMS 64/21, PERM, T-MSIS).
  • Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks across large datasets.
  • Document processes and contribute to data governance best practices.
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay current with Medicaid MES modernization initiatives and emerging analytics technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of healthcare data analysis experience, including business requirements and UAT.
  • 5 years of SQL development (performance tuning, query optimization).
  • 3 years working with Medicaid/CHIP programs and CMS federal reporting OR ability to quickly learn domain.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with Medicaid MES modernization and federal compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to quality metrics (HEDIS, CHIPRA) and healthcare analytics.
  • Agile project experience.

This is not a reporting-only position. You will shape data strategy, improve compliance, and deliver insights that impact healthcare programs nationwide. This role requires a bi-annual trip to Springfield, IL (expenses covered) for meetings.
