. This organization is committed to delivering expert pension service to Illinois public educators. As a Database Administrator, you will perform key database administration tasks on Linux, Windows, and Azure environments, supporting the software development and application teams.
- Perform database administration assignments for systems and applications running on Linux and Windows server platforms.
- Support the complete software development life cycle from conception to deployment in an Agile environment.
- Review and ensure database integrity using standardized support tools.
- Modify and test changes to previously developed programs.
- Support both Dev Ops and New Feature development.
- Document and maintain software functionality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Create and develop well‑designed and testable code aligning with current database standards.
- Be available to troubleshoot SQL Server service outages even after‑hours and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of database administration experience.
- Specific experience in database design and implementation.
- Open to new ideas and encourages innovative practices among peers.
- Practices positive interactions – leans on encouragement in place of judgment.
- Impresses responsibility on others by displaying ownership in tasks.
- Acts in the interest of the overall team.
- Able to multi‑task in a fast paced, fluid work environment.
- Capable of presenting technical ideas and concepts in business‑friendly language.
