Essential

Functions
  • Serves as Fiscal Supervisor to the Chief Fiscal Officer on complex budgetary, fiscal, and accounting problems.
  • Establishes and directs the maintenance of adequate, updated accounting and control system.
  • Manages the preparation of the Department annual budget.
  • Approves Capital Asset Transactions.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Serves as the Comptrollers Office liaison for the Statewide Accounting Management System to assist with problem resolution for fiscal staff and assign passwords.
  • Accounts for the agency headcount by division compared to budgeted headcount.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience in accounting, external auditing or budgetary control of publicaccounting.
  • Two (2) years of knowledge of law, rules and regulations relating to accounting.
  • One (1) year of working experience and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reports.
  • Two (2) years of working experience with computerized accounting systems and software of a varying scope and excelcomputer software/programs.
  • One (1) year of working experience and knowledge of Procurement codes and rules.

  • Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
  • Overtime is a condition or employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, orlast-minute overtime.
