Operator Load Builder (2nd Shift – M-F; 12:00p – 8:30p)

Vestis Corporation is looking for an Operator Load Builder to work the 2nd shift (Monday – Friday 12:00p – 8:30p) in Springfield, IL.

Overview

Work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility, safely, efficiently, and accurately handling merchandise into and out of the facility.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Become familiar with load sheet (by route, by day) and build loads one day ahead.
• Follow load building guidance and load product in order according to weight, size, type, and other specifications.
• Identify and segregate items that do not meet quality requirements (stains, gum stains, rips, tears, holes, wet).
• Monitor merchandise that does not meet specified quality standards.
• Maneuver full and empty carts and be familiar with safety standards for pushing/pulling carts 50 lbs. and greater.
• Inform supervisor of shortages every two to four increments based on market center reporting process.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Understand written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Work independently and as part of a team following the production plan.
• Meet attendance schedule.
• Shift schedule may include weekends; overtime required as needed.

Working Environment / Safety Requirements

• Warehouse setting; exposed to outdoor weather, extreme heat/cold, dust, and noise.
• Lift and carry products up to 20 lbs. frequently.
• Move, push, or maneuver carts weighing up to 300 lbs. frequently.
• Bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and pressing above shoulder level and below waist.
• Use hands, wrists, arms for grasping and other manipulations.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $17.55
