Job OverviewPsych Experience Strongly Preferred
Full Time: 2:45 AM - 3:15 PM (three 12‑hour shifts per week, every other weekend rotation)
Hourly Rate: USD $30.23/Hr.
Maximum: USD $48.37/Hr.
Sign‑On Bonus: $20,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE
ResponsibilitiesPsychiatric Registered Nurse (RN), 5AG provides care for patients with acute psychiatric illnesses, including those with concurrent medical comorbidities. Patient population may have thought, mood, substance abuse, and/or behavioral disorders with suicidal ideations. ECT services for inpatients and outpatients are performed within this unit.
Responsibilities include:
- Delegating, supervising, and providing nursing care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process.
- Providing age‑appropriate care and participating in research when appropriate, incorporating research findings into evidence‑based clinical practice.
- Contributing to quality improvement processes and adhering to SMH Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, ANA Code of Ethics, and the Illinois Nursing Act.
- Licensed as RN in the State of Illinois (required).
- Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
- Ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient for other patient care duties.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
- Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, contagious diseases, and/or hazardous materials.
