USD $28.25/hr – $45.21/hr (Max)

Outpatient RN – Main Surgery Services. No weekends or holidays. Day Shift, 8:00am – 4:30pm (Four 10/hour shifts per week). Three weeknight call shifts (7pm‑11pm) within a 6‑week schedule (One hour response time).

• Provide pre and post‑op care for patients coming from the Main OR, including Phase II Recovery.
• Delegate, supervise, and provide nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process.
• Provide age‑appropriate care and participate in research when appropriate; incorporate research findings into evidence‑based practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement processes and adhere to SMH Mission, Vision and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics and the Illinois Nursing Act.
• Exceed customer expectations by treating each patient as the only one cared for that day, being the calm voice for the family, finding answers when you don’t have one, and displaying compassion in all interactions.

• Licensed as RN in the State of Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
• ACLS within three months of hire.

• Ability to position and/or transfer an average adult patient; gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties.
• Must withstand prolonged periods of standing and perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
• Experience working in environments that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other hazardous materials.
