Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in a Level I trauma, Magnet-recognized acute care hospital, requiring BLS, NIH, and IL RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 23-bed Med/Surg unit within an acute care hospital

• Night shifts are scheduled as 3x12 hour shifts starting at 18:45

• Every other weekend is required

• Floating within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals is required

• Patient care may include PICC line management and IV starts

• Cerner is used for charting; previous Cerner experience preferred

• Solid color scrubs may be worn

• Responsibilities include PICC line management and IV starts in addition to typical Med/Surg RN duties

• Supportive team in a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated environment

• First-time travelers are accepted

• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO is typically approved; more requires facility approval

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment

• Modules must be completed virtually on the first day

• Free parking is provided with a parking permit completed during orientation
Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand or in process with confirmed ETA

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required

• BLS and NIHSS certifications required from AHA or Red Cross (no RQI cards)

• Experience with PICC line management and starting IVs required

• Prior charge RN experience preferred

• Must provide DOB and SSN for consideration

• Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee in the hospital system within the past 12 months
