American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital requiring PICC line management and IV insertion skills.

• Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours )
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
• May be assigned up to a 1:7 patient ratio when necessary
• Must be willing to care for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients (experience not required but willingness to learn is required)

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of application
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• PICC line management experience required
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, PCA, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac

• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
• Any solid color scrubs permitted
• RTO requests are reviewed and approved by the unit manager based on scheduling needs
• Only one winter holiday may be requested off
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• If requested time off falls on a scheduled weekend, an additional weekend will be scheduled to make up for the time away
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
