Regional Sous Chef

Overview

Regional Sous Chef role at Compass One Healthcare. Based out of South/South Central, IL with 100% travel. Supports 9 healthcare accounts in Southern IL and potentially 4 in Northeastern WI.

Schedule:

based on business needs; shifts between 6a and 6p, primarily M-F.

Traveling/Regional Sous Chef. Join our culinary team to support healthcare clients in the Southern Illinois region. Work with Head Chefs and Directors of Dining to create exceptional dishes, maintain food quality, and ensure smooth kitchen operations. Help train associates, assist with catering functions, and support retail cafe programs. Requires leadership in a fast-paced environment.

• 100% regional travel within Southern IL market (e.g., Springfield, Effingham, Mattoon, Pana, Litchfield); occasionally assist in Northeastern WI
• Assist Executive Chefs/Directors with managing food and labor cost for accounts
• Assist with planning and creating menus
• Produce and execute catering events
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team

• Based in Southern IL for proximity
• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
• High volume, complex food service operations experience, preferably healthcare or higher education
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
• Catering experience a plus
• Focus on food quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation
• Computer literacy:
  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Email and Internet
• Willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
• Serv Safe certified – highly desirable

Salary: $60,000–$65,000
