As a Customer Service Associate you will welcome customers, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. You will interact with customers throughout the day, answer questions, and organize merchandise. Your daily responsibilities may vary by department, and you may work in one of:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
- Welcome customers and deliver friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by identifying empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise on time.
- Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to deliver the best service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
- 6 months experience using common retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, it may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may be working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds, using team lifts when needed, and using powered equipment with proper training.

PayRange
Pay Range: $15.00 – $15.60 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
