Job Overview

The U.S. Secret Service is seeking a Special Agent with a $40,000 recruitment incentive. The base pay range is $48,371.00/yr - $/yr.

As a Special Agent, duties include:

• Providing protection for various protectees.
• Conducting criminal investigations pertaining to financial obligations of the United States.
• Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Possess a current valid driver's license.
• Carry and use a firearm, and maintain firearm proficiency.
• Be at least age 21 and less than age 37, unless previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position applies.
• Obtain a Top Secret Clearance and retain it during their career.
• Meet specific visual and hearing requirements.
• Submit to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while occupying the position.
• Complete intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
• Sign a mobility agreement stating willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.
• Certify registration with the Selective Service System, if applicable.
