Your ImpactAre you a skilled and highly motivated Generator Technician ready to learn and grow in a fast‑paced, challenging role in the telecom industry? Pearce’s Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell‑phone towers in your region, offering a great match for independent, self‑starters who are willing to travel.
Core Responsibilities- Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment.
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, read and follow blueprints or design specifications for installation or repair.
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, other components, and test for proper operation.
- Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms; be on call 24/7 if necessary and answer assigned phone and e‑mail promptly.
- Work safely, recognizing potential hazards (falls, electric shock, falling objects, traffic), using safety equipment and practices, and attend all designated safety and training meetings.
- Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred; a minimum of one year of intensive, generator‑related electrical maintenance experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair, including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
- Lifting over 50 pounds; stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, standing for long periods.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly.
- Travel long distances; work day, evening, night, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned.
- Pass a DOT physical.
Base Pay Range: $30 USD - $40 USD
