Job OverviewWe are seeking an Experienced HVAC Technician to service and repair commercial HVAC equipment on telecom shelters located on cell tower sites. This regional position requires residents of Springfield, Illinois. The role is fast‑paced, rewarding, and offers opportunities to grow within the telecom industry.
Core Responsibilities- Maintain cooling systems: diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, or replace components of entire systems.
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Perform maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season HVAC equipment.
- Respond to service calls promptly, including emergency call‑outs.
- Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports.
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per Pearce Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
- Level 2 or Universal EPA Certified (required).
- 3+ years of HVAC maintenance experience (commercial preferred).
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems (preferred).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must reside in Springfield, Illinois.
- Available for after‑hours and weekend call‑outs on occasion.
- Extensive daily travel in an independent work structure.
- Occasional overnight stays; company pays all travel costs and provides per diem.
- Travel to remote work sites as needed.
- Work outdoors in ambient temperatures.
- Lift and move equipment up to 50 lb.
- Required to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). hourly, DOE. In addition to wages, employees may receive performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, and other applicable compensation.
