Hourly, All University Events Planning student employees are considered extensions of the full-time staff members, with similar job responsibilities. Student employees will perform a variety of operational support functions that deal with the delivery of various services to the University community, support of events, coordination of non-academic scheduling, and day-to-day operations of various buildings and rooms on Campus.

Assists in the delivery of University Events Services for the campus community and booking of events in our Event Scheduling System. Check in on events and make sure things are set up, and at times, you will assist in breaking down and setting up events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of University Events Planning or the Assistant Director of University Events Planning.

The nature of this position and the constantly evolving nature of the event functions on campus require assistance with or performing tasks that may be created and/or modified.

Qualifications
  • Individuals must possess the knowledge, skill, and interpersonal abilities commensurate with designated duties or be able to explain and demonstrate performance of the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-traffic office with faculty, staff, administration, and student groups.
  • Ability to use a variety of computer software packages, a computerized reservation system, and basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to perform a high level of customer service using both diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to work with and cooperate with the Director of University Events Planning and Assistant Director of University Events Planning, and other University staff, faculty, and students.
  • Ability to work independently, organize time, and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, in writing and over the phone.
  • Ability to perform minor and major set-ups for events and meetings.
