About Our School
Pioneer Valley Montessori Schoolis a well-established Montessori community serving children ages
18 months–12 years. As we celebrate over
60 years of nurturing independence, curiosity, and compassion, we are excited to expand into a brand-new building featuring additional classrooms, event space, and thoughtfully designed environments for young children.
We are seeking a dedicatedMontessori Toddler Guideto lead one of our newest classrooms and help shape the next phase of our growing school community, to begin January 2026. The classroom space will be ready in February 2026, so the first month will be shadowing the existing toddler program and preparing the new space.
Position SummaryThe Lead Montessori Toddler Guide will be responsible for establishing and leading a new Toddler classroom serving children approximately 18 months to 3 years of age. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, professionalism, and a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy to create a peaceful, engaging, and developmentally responsive environment.
This is a full-time, school-year position with opportunities for summer program involvement and professional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Leadership: Prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori toddler environment that supports independence, freedom within limits, and respect for the child.
Curriculum & Instruction: Implement the Montessori method with fidelity while integrating the school’s values and community goals.
Observation & Assessment: Observe each child’s progress and maintain accurate developmental records to inform communication and planning.
Classroom Setup: Collaborate with the administrative and facilities team to outfit and arrange materials in the new classroom space prior to opening.
Collaboration: Supervise and mentor classroom assistants; work cooperatively with colleagues across the Toddler and Early Childhood programs.
Family Partnership: Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, updates, and school events to build trust and partnership.
Professionalism: Model integrity, curiosity, and kindness; participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school-wide events.
Required:
Montessori Toddler (Assistants to Infancy or 0–3) certification from a MACTE-accredited training center
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Montessori Toddler environment
Strong understanding of child development and positive guidance
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience opening or setting up a classroom
CPR/First Aid certification
