Role OverviewEducators in the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership are responsible for ensuring students have access to strong instruction, experience a deep sense of belonging, and are prepared for meaningful academic and life opportunities.
SEZP educators serve as instructors, mentors, and collaborators, contributing to communities that value relationships, clear expectations, and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities- Access to High-Quality Learning
Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, ensure all students can access grade-level content, and use data to adjust instruction. - Belonging and School Community
Build strong relationships, contribute to a culture where students feel known and supported, collaborate with colleagues, and engage families. - Opportunity and Growth
Support students in developing confidence, participate in professional learning cycles, and model strong practice for future educators.
- Uphold school-wide expectations related to curriculum, assessment, and professional conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
- Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Physical Education (licensure waiver available).
- Demonstrated ability to support a range of learners through strong instruction and relationship-building.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.

SEZP combines district-based public education with autonomous school models, providing meaningful control over curriculum, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting while maintaining clear accountability for student learning and growth.
