• Schedule: 16 hours/week, Day shift
• Location: BMC Campus – Springfield, MA
• Department: Hybrid Vascular Operating Room (HVOR)
• Bonus: Up to $2,000 for eligible external hires

As a Surgical Technologist in the OR, you will:

• Assist surgeons and physicians with a wide range of complex procedures, including minimally invasive and open surgeries.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor the surgical environment to ensure optimal patient safety.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment in a timely manner.
• Function across multiple specialties and adapt quickly to emergent situations.
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other clinicians as a key part of a multidisciplinary care team.

• Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or equivalent accredited training program
• AST Certification*
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

* Required for new hires without prior surgical facility experience before July 1, 2013.

• Meets all Tech I requirements
• Minimum 2 years of experience, or 1 year at BMC with completion of orientation competencies

• Meets all Tech I requirements
• Minimum 4 years of experience, including at least 1 year at Baystate Health
