Shriners Children’s has an opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The position is day shift, Monday - Friday.

The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $26.78 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtaining routine clinical information on patients/family, providing physical care of the patients, procuring and maintaining par levels of clinic supplies, and providing light clerical assistance.

Additional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) tasks include:

  • Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
  • Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
  • Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – by Certification by the American Association for Medical Assistants
  • Three years' experience as a Medical Assistant
  • National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology required in 12 months
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician within 12 months

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree
  • Two years' pediatric care experience
