**** Position Overview
** Baystate Health is launching the Baystate Health Staffing Optimization Team (BHSOT), a new Patient Care Technician (PCT) float pool designed to provide experienced patient care and behavioral health support staff with greater flexibility while helping meet patient care and staffing needs across Western Massachusetts.

As a Baystate Health Float Pool PCT, you will be hired into either a Facility Float or System-Wide Float position. Both opportunities offer variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to work across designated patient care and behavioral health areas based on your experience and assigned clinical grouping.

*** Provide direct patient care across designated clinical areas within a specific Baystate Health facility.
* Facility Float PCTs must be able to work in
** all areas included within their assigned clinical grouping**.
* ** System-Wide Float BRT
*** Provide direct patient care across designated clinical areas at multiple Baystate Health facilities.

System-Wide Float PCTs must be able to work in

**** Responsibilities
* * As a Baystate Health Float Pool Patient Care Technician, you will:
* Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.
* Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
* Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
* Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
* Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.
